The 2008 BioEnergy Summer Interns worked on various projects involved bioenergy applications. This project involved using waste vegetable oil as a source for biodiesel productions. Replacing methanol with ethanol was also examined.

    sorry spoke to soon i just saw you comment on the closed loop system… but i have seen people simply distilling the glycerol to reclaim the alcohol

    have you looked into reclaiming the methanol from the glycerol in a reflux still?

    this could also be performed for the ethanol (you could even make your own and using a vacuum still you could even get to the 100% ABV you need quite easily as a vacuum still is quite easy to build) and what are you using the glycerol for?

    as you could also burn it to run the still and as its made from biodegradable sources its part of the carbon cycle..

    A1 but reclamation of waste would be even better
