yes store bought wouldnot need to be filtered but the main purpose of this is to save money so once the kit is installed there is no on going fee except filters of course.

IF you wanted to you can. I believe store bought would even be better becuase it is pure and if you did by it from a store there would be no need for all the filters. Im not sure though.
